Kyron Street Limited are the distributer of the Bigbelly smart solar compacting bins and have offered to do a trial of these bin in Galway City. These bins have a compactor that compacts the rubbish within the bin, increasing the amount of litter that can be accepted and reducing the frequency of emptying cycles. The bins have technology which will text a staff member when 60%, 70% of 80% full alerting that the bin required emptying very soon. More details can be found at bigbelly.com
