Energy Efficiency Projects with SEAI Better Energy Communities

Cork City Council and Northside Enterprise Centre have implemented a number of projects across Cork City which have been funded through SEAI’s better energy Communities programme.

The value of these projects is €3.4 million and links domestic, commercial, community and public sectors and has achieved energy savings of 6,900,000 kWh. These projects have helped improve the quality of life of residents in the project areas and also goes some way to reducing fuel poverty.

One such project renovated 158 local authority homes and a community centre at Ardbhaile and Glenamoy. This project involved the introduction of air to air, and air to water heat pumps as well as cavity wall insulation and LED Lighting.
